In this episode of Crown Next Level we meet Irish Paralympian, Tiarnan O’Donnell. At the age of five Tiarnán was diagnosed with a rare malformation in his right leg. Years of hospital visits, operations, medication, and physio followed and at the age of 19 he made the decision to have his leg amputated. He says it was the best thing that happened to him. Now, as well as being an accomplished sportsman with an eye on the next Paralympics in Los Angeles, Tiarnan is also a qualified Mechanical Engineer.
In this pod, Tiarnan talks about how his disability affected his interactions with other people, his mental health struggles and how to overcome them, and the importance of a good support team.

Fergus Farrell has set out on a 4500km Walk Across America to raise funds for Spinal Injuries Ireland. He left from Brooklyn Bridge in New York City on 22nd August and is hoping to reach Santa Monica Pier in LA, after 75 days. We catch up with Fergus as he reaches the 1000km mark.
